The history of the FKUI Library cannot be separated from the history of medical education in Indonesia, which began with the establishment of the Javanese Medical School in 1849, which later turned into GHS.
During the Japanese colonization, medical education in Indonesia became Ika Daigaku until finally in 1950 the University of Indonesia was established in charge of the Faculty of Medicine.
