The Doctoral Program in Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia (PDIB FKUI) is an academic education at the postgraduate level 3 (S-3) with the task of producing graduates who have expertise and skills in the field of biomedical science, are ready to work and can compete globally.
This program began with the establishment of the Master Program in Basic Medical Sciences FKUI in 1979. In line with the increasing interest in further studies, this program has also grown to include Doctoral level education which is open to disciplines other than medicine such as pharmacy, biology, and health sciences disciplines as well as families. other sciences.
In 2000, after the management of the UI Postgraduate program was returned to the Faculty, the Biomedical Science Study Program was managed by a Head of Study Program (KPS) assisted by 2 Study Program Secretaries (SPS), namely for the Master’s Program and the Doctoral Program.
The Masters and Doctoral Programs in Biomedical Sciences were in one container in the advanced study program at FKUI until 2005. Starting in 2005, following the instructions of the Dean of FKUI, the management of the Master’s Program and Doctoral Programs of the PPS-FKUI Biomedical Sciences Study Program were separated by management and administrative. became the Master’s Program in Biomedical Sciences (PMIB) FKUI and Doctoral Program in Biomedical Sciences (PDIB) FKUI, so that each program is managed by a KPS assisted by an SPS. As for the title stipulated in the Decree of the Board of Trustees of the University of Indonesia No. 001/TAP/MWA-UI/2005 for PMIB graduates are Masters in Biomedics (M.Biomed.) and for PDIB graduates are Doctors (Dr.).
The number of new participants for the Doctoral Program in Biomedical Sciences per year is around 12 – 20 participants. Since its establishment now, the FKUI Biomedical Science Doctoral Program has graduated more than 300 Biomedical Doctors who have been active in Academic Institutions, Research Institutes, Government, Industry in Indonesia and abroad.
