Established in 1993, the Doctoral Program in Biomedical Sciences (DPBS), Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia, is first doctoral program in Biomedical Sciences in Indonesia. For more than three decades, DPBS has been committed to developing highly qualified researchers and advancing biomedical science through innovative, interdisciplinary, and impactful research.
The program provides a research-oriented and multidisciplinary academic environment covering a broad range of biomedical fields, including molecular biology, genetics, genomics, epigenetics, cancer biology, stem cell biology, immunology, neuroscience, reproductive biology, microbiology, pharmacology, bioinformatics, and translational medicine.
Over the years, DPBS has produced a growing community of alumni who have pursued diverse careers as academics, researchers, clinicians, scientists, and professionals in universities, research institutions, hospitals, government agencies, and other organizations in Indonesia and abroad. Many of our alumni have made significant contributions to biomedical research, education, healthcare, and scientific development.
The research achievements of our faculty members, doctoral students, and alumni are reflected in numerous publications in reputable international scientific journals, contributing to the advancement of biomedical knowledge and addressing important health challenges.
DPBS continues to strengthen its international collaborations, research networks, student development, and academic partnerships with universities and research institutions around the world. Through these efforts, the program aims to prepare the next generation of independent researchers and scientific leaders who can contribute to biomedical innovation and improve human health at both national and global levels.
For more than 30 years, DPBS has been committed to excellence in doctoral education, research, and the development of future leaders in biomedical sciences.
