- PURPOSE
This SOP was created as a guideline for the method and process for submitting a review of student assessment results.
2 SCOPE
This procedure includes the procedures and process for submitting a request for review of student assessment results.
3. DEFINITION
In connection with the review process for the preparation of the Preliminary Self Evaluation Report, it is deemed necessary to establish a mechanism for submitting a review of the results of the student assessment for the Doctoral Program in Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia.

Universitas Indonesia Dean’s decree No. 289/H2.F1.D/HKP.02.04/2014 about Mechanism for Submitting a Review of the Assessment Results of Students of the Medical Education Program, Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia.
5. PROCEDURE
1. Limitation
A . proposal for review may be submitted by students for matters related to the assessment process and results in the educational program.
B. Assessment is a decision based on the results of an assessment (evaluation of student learning outcomes in a stage of education or a module).
C. Matters related to student input for the learning process and program/module implementation are not included in the matters that can be submitted. Student feedback related to the learning process can be submitted through a structured feedback mechanism verbally and in writing to the program manager
- Appeals process
A. This appeal mechanism by students applies to students of the Doctoral Program in Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia.
B. The student concerned must submit a written proposal for a review to the Vice Dean for Academic, Research and Student Affairs with a copy to the Postgraduate Program Coordinator. The written submission letter must be accompanied by a detailed explanation of the basis for the submission and accompanied by supporting documents related to the proposal submitted.
C. The time for submitting a review by students is no later than 30 days after the deadline for filling in grades in SIAK NG by the module team, except for modules that are still running at the deadline for filling. For modules that are still in progress, the deadline for submitting a review is 30 days after the grades are published in SIAK NG.
D. Students must discuss or clarify the assessment results with the module team first before submitting a review proposal
E. The Vice Dean for Academic, Research and Student Affairs and the Postgraduate Program Coordinator will study the submitted application for review and assess the suitability of the basis for the application and the evidence provided. The Vice Dean will decide whether the application for review can be processed further or not.
F. The Vice Dean for Academic, Research and Student Affairs will provide written notification regarding the status of the application process for a review of the assessment results to the student concerned no later than 30 days after the submission date, namely: a) The application for a review of the assessment results cannot be followed up due to insufficient basis, b) The application for a review of the assessment results will be processed further.3. Grounds for appealAssessment decision making is done by considering the achievement of knowledge, skills and behavior competencies of a student in a module. Determination of final grades, assessment methods and assessment processes are based on applicable provisions.
Students may appeal on the following grounds:
- The assessment results do not comply with the applicable provisions in: determining final grades, assessment methods, and assessment processes in the Doctoral Program in Biomedical Sciences.
- The assessment results were deemed non-objective and discriminatory.
Students cannot file an appeal based solely on their disagreement with the grades or assessment results obtained.
4. Decision-making
- The Vice Dean for Academic, Research and Student Affairs needs to gather as much information as necessary to make decisions.
- The team consisting of the Postgraduate Program Coordinator, year coordinator, module head, and academic quality assurance unit/team provides recommendations for decision making to the Vice Dean for Academic, Research and Student Affairs.
- Students and other necessary parties may be called to discuss the appeal filed.
- Decision-making on the application for review of assessment results is carried out by the Vice Dean for Academic, Research and Student Affairs based on a systematic analysis of the problem of relevant data and evidence obtained from various related parties.
- The decision-making process for submitting a request for review of assessment results is carried out within 30 – 60 days after the submission is made.
- The decision regarding the application for review of the assessment results will be conveyed in writing to the student
- The Vice Dean for Academic, Research and Student Affairs and the Postgraduate Program Coordinator will coordinate the follow-up of the results of the review decision.
- Decisions that have been taken cannot be challenged.
- The decision-making process for submitting a review application is evaluated by the academic quality assurance unit or team at the study program or faculty level.
