Welcome to the Doctoral Program in Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia (DPBS-FMUI)

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to our doctoral program, where we are committed to developing excellent researchers and future leaders in biomedical sciences. Our program provides an interdisciplinary and research-driven academic environment that encourages scientific curiosity, critical thinking, innovation, research integrity, and collaboration.

Biomedical sciences are rapidly evolving. Advances in molecular biology, genetics, genomics, epigenetics, stem cell biology, bioinformatics, artificial intelligence, and precision medicine are opening new opportunities to understand disease mechanisms and develop better approaches to prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. To respond to these developments, our program continuously strengthens its curriculum, research environment, and international academic networks.

Our doctoral students are encouraged to conduct high-quality and impactful research, collaborate across disciplines, publish in international scientific journals, and engage with researchers and institutions around the world. We also provide opportunities for international co-supervision, external examination, research collaboration, student mobility, and other forms of global academic engagement.

We believe that a strong doctoral education is not only about producing a dissertation. It is about developing independent scientists who are able to formulate important scientific questions, conduct rigorous research, critically evaluate evidence, communicate scientific findings, and contribute to the advancement of biomedical sciences and human health.

Through strong partnerships among students, supervisors, researchers, clinicians, and international collaborators, we strive to create a dynamic research community that connects scientific discovery with real-world health challenges.
